Lot of controversies are driven when it comes drink and drive. Even though, drinking is one’s personal choice, but driving with drunken state is not a choice in traffic safety. It puts your own life at risk when it happens so.
Now a days, alcohol has become so crucial part in everyone’s life that whenever the person may be in joy or sorrow, the person willing to have drinks in all the events. Drinking alcohol forces the mind to snooze and makes it inactive for other activities. Alcohol has become one of the social misfortunes in the world.
While our topic is related to drink and driving, alcohol when comes in contact with driving, it leads to frequent road accidents. According to the 2016 statistics of World Health Organization, road traffic injuries caused an estimated 1.35 million deaths worldwide.
Since, due to many road issues the driver already has to drive on his nerves. Driving while drinking leads to make the driver frivolous and cause the road accidents. Driving under the influence of alcohol is the huge problem worldwide. Mostly, drinks are influencing the young generation. First, they drive under age and then they drive in drunken state, and at last, cops catch them.
The laws are made to curb drink and drive cased according to the countries. Although, the laws are different as per the countries, but the sole purpose it to restrict drink and drive to a limit. One difference is the acceptable limit of blood alcohol content (BAC) before a person is charged with a crime. The BAC varies countries per countries. However, the limit is from 0 to 0.15% BAC. Hence, it is illegal if you find driving with more than 0.15% BAC.
Many campaigns bring up with many creative ideas, which promote ‘NEVER DRINK & DRIVE’ as in road to safety. Such campaigns are run in all countries. These campaigns not only make people aware regarding drunk driving but also promote laws and penalties associated with it. Also, the penalties varies per countries.
