Because, (apparently) God gave Sapiens a choice between salvation and damnation, we are all saddled (but are we??) with free will.
Whether we really choose our genetic and/or social heritage is debated, but no matter what, we desperately want to have choice.
There are plenty of Catholics — including the hundreds that I have ever met — that are not Trad-Catholics. I am going to call them Non Tradatholics.

Non Tradatholics do not care so much whether you love or marry someone of another sex or gender. They believe women and men should have equal rights. They openly use contraceptives, and have completely individual, and nuanced, ideas about abortion. They are not afraid of Woke. They agree with our pope that sexuality is a gift from God.
