Stage 1: The Egg
We hope it’s worth the wait.
A mother robin will lay its three to five eggs in the summer. She will incubate the eggs until the chicks make their way out of their eggs. Much like the avian robin, Robin is being developed this summer. The team behind Robin is working tirelessly to bring our app to life and deliver it to you.
The purpose of Robin is to transform the mobile app network and dating space. What we understand as the “Dating App Revolution” has produced a slew of apps that value quantity over quality. With Robin, we believe we can revolutionize this space for people who have found the space frustrating and unfulfilling. We want to do all this while retaining the value of the current space: rapid gratification, one-handed play, and the chance to build anything from a relationship to a network. We think that the current offerings in the network/dating app space cater to only a very narrow range of people seeking connections. We’ve seen too many lists of matches on popular mobile dating apps without a single word being exchanged.
Not only does Robin marry gamification with networking, but it makes connections based on more than a pictorial first impression so that you’re more likely to start an actual conversation with a potential friend, partner, or colleague. The developers at Robin identified a problem with the current popular model- it’s too hasty and ephemeral, and the rewards are predictable and stagnant. With Robin, you think about each potential match with which you are presented. You get both attraction and compatibility. And, you’re not the only one making connections for yourself. We crowdsource matchmaking, asking your network to connect you with others in their networks. We are developing multiple gamified interfaces that allow players to match and be matched based on more than just their looks. It’s important to pioneer a space, but it’s also important to be the best in the game.
We are looking to do a private release for testing purposes during the first week of July. If you would like to be a part of this beta test, shoot us an e-mail (team@baseforty.com). Stay tuned for more.
