Calgary has so many private dining options. The city hosts a myriad of wine cellars, backrooms and rooftops for your party to enjoy. It would drive you crazy to look through all the options this city has to offer. So, we have done the dirty work for you and narrowed down all that Stampede City has to offer into a comprehensive list. Here are the top 7 Private Dining Rooms you need to book right now:

Barcelona Tavern (501 8th Ave SW)

As you could probably guess by the name, Barcelona Tavern serves authentic Spanish food with a local twist. They have a distinct focus on creating a fun and uplifting community environment. Barcelona Tavern prides itself on treating each and everyone of their customers like family. The Tavern’s head chef, Andrew Gass is the artistic force behind the tavern and has been a chef for more than 20 years. He is passionate about the Spanish culture and thrives to bring his creativeness into the kitchen everyday. All in all, this place is one of the local favourites in Calgary and it won’t fail to make a good night, great. Minimum spend depends on season

Blink (111 8 Ave SW)

Blink is one of Calgary’s more historic restaurants, it was originally a saddlery in the 19th century. Now it has become a staple in the lives of many Calgarians. Blink has created quite an interesting aesthetic, it has exposed brick walls, an open concept kitchen and a recently renovated modern interior. The Blink menu changes constantly and is always being modified to enhance their Canadian contemporary classics and create more unique flavours. This experience never fails to exceed my expectations. No minimum spend

Briggs Kitchen & Bar (100–317 10th Avenue SW)

Briggs Kitchen and Bar has a slogan, “We love food, We love people, We love liquids and We love a deal”. This is a slogan that is hard to disagree with. They pride themselves on bringing food back to a simpler time by cooking everything over natural fire. No minimum spend

Charbar (618 Confluence Way SE)

Charbar is a fantastic spot for an amazing fusion of Alberta beef and Argentinian cuisine. As one of Calgary’s newer private dining spots they do a fantastic job of incorporating modern dishes into their flavour palette. Charbar is run by Jessica Pelland a winner of Chopped Canada! She is a born and bred Albertan and truly understands the western culinary culture. The minimum for Charbar ranges from $550 depending on the room and the size of your party.

Escoba Bistro & Wine Bar (628 8th Avenue SW)

Escoba Bistro & Wine bar is the King of making a casual experience feel somewhat upscale. Escoba’s celebrated tasting menu is one of the best options for Mediterranean food in all of Calgary. In terms of private dining at Escoba. Minimum spend is $1000 .

Hy’s Steakhouse (8th Avenue and 3rd Street)

Hy’s is the master of ambience, when walking in you instantly feel like you’ve been transported into the palace of a king. The deep mahogany and rich colours create a sense of luxury and purpose. Hy’s private dining experience is one that is hailed as one of the best if not the outright best. No minimum spend although there is a $500 cost of cancel if not given reasonable notice.

Murrieta’s Bar and Grill (808 1st St. SW #200)

Murrieta’s might be Calgary’s most famous bar and grill combo, led my celebrity chef Dave Bohati, they have created one of the best private dining experiences in Calgary. Their customers rave about the ambience that Murrieta’s has created. You can be certain that head chef Bohati won’t let you down food-wise either. The minimum spend on this room for lunch is $500 and the minimum spend for dinner is $700.

Conclusion

If you’ve gotten this far, you probably need some extra convincing that booking a private dining experience for your clients or employees is worth it. So I’ll give you some informative stats on what private dining can do for you whether you are looking to entertain some clients or build employee engagement.

  • Engaged employees show up to work, you can see up to 41% decrease in Absenteeism
  • Happy employees means happy customers, companies with engaged employees see 233% greater customer loyalty
  • Go above and beyond for clients, a customer who is “totally satisfied” delivers 2.6 times as much revenue as one who is “somewhat satisfied.”

Now that we’re all convinced, go out and enjoy your private dining!
