We continue getting you acquainted with the team. This time we are proud to tell more about Jean-Elie Malkin — our Medical Director.
Born in Paris, France, Mr. Malkin became Doctor of Medicine (University of Paris) at the age of 27. Among his academic achievements are the diplomas in Post Graduate Studies in Public Health (National Diploma), Master degree in statistics applied to epidemiology), Board Certification in Infectious and Tropical Diseases, and Post Graduate Studies (DEA) in Public Health in Developing countries.
Jean-Elie Malkin used to be the Director of Global Alliance for Health and Social Compact (GAHSC) — a private consulting company on Public Health which has developed in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa projects on health systems reform (with focus on Hospital and Pharma sectors and on e-Health). He was leading and supervising a team of international experts in charge of the elaboration of health system transformation in various territories, such as Central Asia, Georgia and Africa. He was also co-chairing the board of GAHSC composed of high-level international experts and organizing with members of the board meetings and events with key international and national leaders.
In this position Dr. Malkin was into building relationship with political decision makers at highest levels: Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers of Health and Finance. Before working as GAHSC director Jean-Elie Malkin developed a huge international experience as UNAIDS Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, senior adviser of ESTHER (French governmental agency for hospital partnership on HIV/Aids) and Director of ITSF (International Therapeutic Solidarity Fund). allows speaking of him as a real proficient in development, implementation and management of various managed care programmes.
In these various executive positions Dr. Malkin held in GAHSC and French governmental agencies as well as in UN system, he developed and established a strong network with high level political (Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers), scientific and civil society leaders. His strong advocacy skills and experience in negotiations at highest level had led to the establishment of partnerships and agreements with governments and international institutions.
His huge experience in leading teams, often multidisciplinary and multicultural and his strong management skills led him to develop, conduct and coordinate large scale and large budget projects as well as performing in depth evaluation and assessment of health projects.
