We can hear the word AI wherever we go. This particular domain became a buzz word in these recent years. The present document provides the abstract of the overview of Artificial Intelligence. Ever wondered Why AI? and What for AI? Let’s get into the content for unravelling the world of Artificial Intelligence.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence is a trailblazer for many jobs and it has been the World’s top Skill for an employee to possess in these current years. So firstly, Does a machine have a brain? Can a machine think by its own? The answer for that would be Yes (partly). A machine can’t think by its own, but it is trained to be.

Did you observe the Spam, Social, Primary, and Promotions tab on your email’s user interface? How are they segregated? A normal human being can’t do this. Here the algorithm of E-mail is trained for the multiple times to be able to segregate the mail that the user receives.

The above particular example provides a vague idea of how a machine is trained to be intelligent. The father of AI, John McCarthy defined, “Artificial Intelligence is the science and engineering of making machines intelligent.”

Fun Fact: What is the most complex Algorithm?

It is the Human Brain, Human brain is the most complex organ in our body which have many abilities like analyzing, contradicting, perceiving, memorizing and thinking. A human brain contains one billion neuron connections. A human brain can store a memory of 25 Peta Bytes within seconds. Like this, a machine can compute many processes and can store much of data. The only constraint here is the physical storage of memory.

Types of AI:

Commonly there are two types of Artificial Intelligence,

Ø Narrow (or Weak) AI

Ø General (or strong) AI

Narrow AI:

The ability of an algorithm performing a single task at a particular time is defined as Narrow AI or Weak AI. Currently, Narrow AI deals with the software stimulating processes set forth an automated solution focusing mainly on high endurance

Some Examples of Narrow AI are:

ü Face Recognition

ü Accurate Weather predictions

ü Self-Driving cars

General AI:

The apprehensive calling of General AI can be named as “TRUE AI”. Rather focusing on a single task General AI can work on numerous tasks conglomerate. The purpose of developing strong AI is training the machine to think generally and it should be able to make decisions rather collecting information or data than learning from previous pieces of training.

Some Examples of General AI are:

-> Visual Inspection System

-> Translations between two languages

-> Decision making and perception

Trends in Artificial Intelligence:

AI has many subnets in the vast field that are cropping up in these current years. So let us confine to three trends now.

Fun Fact: Unknowingly 77% of people use Artificial Intelligence in some forms in their daily life. Many gigantic companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Facebook are implementing AI in their field of works.

1. Intelligent Processing AI Chip:

Many new phones are going to be released with very pleasing specs in these times. Do you know what makes these mobile phones smart? There comes all the way the topic of the “Processor” of the phone.

An AI Processor is nothing but the extension of Neural-Processing-Unit. These NPUs are later transformed as Application-Specific-Integrated Chips. These ASICs have a special type of specific design which enables them to execute machine learning models faster. This local execution might be less powerful but faster. This is because of the less impediment between the data and the processing hub.

2. Internet of Things (IoT):

IoT used to be one of the technical buzzes in the previous days but present it also has been sub-grouped into AI. IoT is a coherent behaviour of a single or multiple machines using a virtual network through a singled centralized monitoring system. It is used in Home Automation, smart cities etc.

3. Robotic Process Automation(RPA):

RPA is a process of giving a set of instructions and algorithms to the machine to do the specific task efficiently. RPA is meant for human-driven tasks, it is a software that reduces the effort of human. RPA is a subpart in Artificial Intelligence, it took over many of the industrial work and made it easier by simple automation. AI included with RPA allows us to trigger the responses, initiation of tasks, aggregation of data etc. Human intervention is not needed for the automation of tasks using RPA.

Procuring a job in the field of Artificial Intelligence is producing a lead to overall economic growth. These improve the efficiency of sectors in many fields and the companies that enabled AI in their working process can succour and assist their services with high values.
