Islington is a funny place but it has a lot going for it. It’s an inner city borough of North London with a bustling High Street full of cool pubs, live music venues, trendy restaurants and shops that sell expensive stuff no one needs.

The Prime Minister of The UK, Sir Kier Starmer, supports Arsenal the Premier League football team based in Islington as do many other politicians, actors, musicians and celebrities so you get the idea. Tony Blair lived there when he was PM but I don’t think he knew what football was.

Islington is that kind of area: super posh and wealthy but with 30% of the population in poverty. Because of the posh bits, some people have claimed Queen Elizabeth II supported Arsenal but they are wrong because she supported West Ham although I have no idea why. West Ham are not posh so perhaps she was trying to get down with the people.

Oh, I nearly forgot, Osama Bin Laden was also an Arsenal supporter but they like to keep that one quiet. Understandably.

I go often to Islington for the live music — I’m not posh enough to be able to live there so I have to catch the tube. I went a couple of weeks before…
