A Complete Unknown is an unknown known
A cold grey Monday evening in a damp East London suburb might seem like the last place you’d want to be but Mrs M and I were there for a damn good reason. The new Bob Dylan biographical musical drama film was showing.
You see, Monday is discount day and it’s only five quid entry at the Forest which is an independent cinema in Walthamstow, a couple of miles from our London home. Mondays are therefore our cinema days.
Sometimes Mrs M chooses the film and sometimes I do. This Monday was my choice. Obviously.
I would have paid a whole lot more to see a Bob Dylan film with lots of Dylan music, especially one based on the book Dylan Goes Electric by Elijah Wald. Dylan going electric was one of the most iconic and transformative moments in popular music.
But I didn’t have to pay more because it was Monday. It means I can afford more films and records. Result.
