Rock On’s Cool Cat Guidelines
We’re starting to grow so I need to do some policy and guidance thingies
To all Rock On’s cool cat readers and writers, I know setting policies for writers is like herding cats but I don’t want to play cat-and-mouse games or pussyfoot around so here goes.
Submissions
Writing for Rock On is mainly by invitation only. However, if you think you can write as good as wot Rock On’s cool cat writers have writ and you love classic rock, then write to me at: byalexmarkham@gmail.com with links to some examples on Medium.
It’s not as if prospective Rock On writers don’t have a cat in hell's chance of writing for us as there are more ways to skin a cat but you need to be as good as the writers already here who are published authors, musicians, editors and subject matter experts. Quality rools.
I can be swayed by fellow cool cat music writers, especially musicians with interesting and deeper than the average insights into music (see Daniel Van Auken for example). Submissions would need to be ready as I don’t want to spend any more time than a quick scan before publishing.
I have hours of Beatles and Springsteen music to listen to or play on my guitar and piano and music books to read so I get incredibly moody when I’m torn…
