Three Musical Johns You Don’t Know, But Absolutely Should

There are countless famous men named John, from John the Baptist to John Wayne. In the musical arena alone, you have John Lennon, John Bonham, Johnny Cash, John Fogerty, John Coltrane…you get the idea. There are, of course, even more Johns who wander the earth in complete obscurity, and this extends to musicians as well.

In today’s Rate-A-Record, I hope to change that to at least a small degree for three Johns from the 1980s that you’ve likely never heard of unless you were a club rat who never missed a live show no matter who was playing. None of these artists achieved the level of success they deserved, for varying reasons, but they did give us some damn fine records to enjoy four decades later.
