How To Find Really Great Homeschool Curriculum
Where to look, and what to use.
WHERE DO I LOOK?
When we started our homeschooling journey I was overwhelmed by the amount of curriculum there was to choose from. How was I supposed to pinpoint exactly what my kids needed to learn, and then effectively teach it to them if I couldn’t nail down a good curriculum? What even entailed a good curriculum?
I spent one year helping to teach Kindergarten in 2012, but I didn’t want to model our homeschool after public school. So while I knew the “how” of teaching small children, I didn’t know the “what.” Needless to say I was very discouraged when it came to even thinking about homeschooling our kids. Then I decided to turn towards some online community help. Then, I started to find some really great homeschooling materials, and things really started falling into place for us.
ONLINE COMMUNITIES
I found my online community mostly through Instagram. There I connected with many other homeschooling parents, and like minded people who I could talk freely about my struggles with. They were encouraging and helpful as I sought out things my kids could learn and things I could teach.
