Rodati: Our story

After months of exploration with Julián and Ezequiel, we detected a huge opportunity on Latin America’s automotive market and an absence of modern solutions for both buyers and sellers. On July of 2014, Rodati was born with the purpose of creating a hassle-free car buying experience.

During the following months, we worked tirelessly on recruiting the best team of Brazilians and Argentinians to develop whatever was needed to conquer our goals. There is a lot of necessity when your market lacks of infrastructure everywhere you look!

As I came to experience myself, facing a big unsolved problem is one of the best sparks for igniting an entrepreneurs motivation.

That hard work proved right, and we finished our last quarter with a network of 60 dealerships working with Rodati in the city of São Paulo and strong positive trends across all our unit economics. Which of course fills me with pride and confidence in our team.

The importance of Why

On his famous TED talk, Simon Sinek proposes to start by asking Why? As he further explains, Why is the purpose, cause, or belief that inspires you to do what you do. The main principle that differentiates great companies like Airbnb or Apple from the rest of mortals.

Sinek explains the best companies set the Why, then define the How (the way make things happen) and finally the What (the product they sell, which may vary over time)

“People don’t buy WHAT you do, they buy WHY you do it.”

Our vision

Our product will evolve, as well as our users needs and possibly even our team. The craziness of each day may lose us as things are going to change even faster.

It’s good to always come back to a reason for being here. We believe that Why is something so crucial for Rodati to make a change, that we wanted to make it part of our DNA and present it as the vision of our company:

To transform car-buying into a superior experience based on transparency, simplicity and trust.

I’m sure that if we trust our vision, our own why, there’s a reason to stay strong and push forward.

And keep transforming car-buying into something better.
