These are some examples I’ll be using as reference for creating my three spread mockups. Pinterest has been super helpful as a resource when I’m in the developing stage of a project.

I’m a fan of these big hero images and the bleeds that go off the page. These layouts can hold lots of images vs. text but I still think they’re great to look at and study.

I especially like the top right one in the second image where it’s just one big chunk of text! But I don’t think I can afford to do that given we only have three spreads available.

I noticed no one has been prototyping with circles! It might not make total sense with what we’re doing but since some of our designers liked to use all sorts of geometric shapes this could be cool to explore. Circles + Rodchenko definitely make sense. He worked with circles and lines constantly in his drawings.

I love this layout just because it isn’t so clear cut (at least on the top image). I like that it makes use of the image, blending it together with text vs. something like the one below where it’s very clear that one page is for an image and one page is for text.

I know it’s going to take me several more tries to come up with some spread layouts that I like but these images definitely helped me get a sense of where to go next.

Experimenting with shapes just for fun!
