Rogervoice users. Everyday heroes.

We like to share real-life stories about Rogervoice users. Because that’s what we are about. Ordinary heroes.

Today we interview Christian

Christian, how would you describe yourself, in one sentence?

— I’m a single father with three teenagers, living in the countryside. I work in a financial center.

Why did you subscribe to Rogervoice?

— Rogervoice boosts my autonomy despite my deafness, and allows me to handle my personal appointments, but also for my kids to reach out to administrators, schools, doctors … all of those people with whom I cannot get in touch by SMS .

What was your last “Whoa” effect with the app?

— The “wow” effect is constant from the first calls to today. You’ve just got to be a bit aware of how speech-to-text works in order to guess some words that were not well pronounced by the person you’re calling. I’ve spent more than half my life without a telephone or interpreter. Lip reading only allows one to understand 30% of a conversation and as you know the minute there’s a problem not being able to communicate multiplies it by two (such as a car breakdown on a highway).

If you could change one thing about the app, what would it be?

— The app is well designed, I’d only add that it would be pertinent to increase the size of text for people who have difficulty reading or seniors, especially for using Rogervoice on connected glasses. A white text on black background such as I use on my app would help increase reading comfort. Receiving transcriptions directly for incoming calls would also save me from dialling back but that’s not too problematic actually.

A shout-out?

— Dare to use Rogervoice, launch yourself, it’s time to end the isolation which is only suffering.
