John Maier brewed his 20,000th beer at Rogue Ales August 18, 2016

Jack Joyce hired Rogue Brewmaster John Maier back in 1989 when the brewery was still located in the back room of the Rogue Bayfront Public House in Newport, Ore. Since then, the brewery has moved across the Yaquina Bay into a larger facility and John Maier has brewed 20,000 beers there.

For his 20,000th concoction, John used 20 types of hops and 20 types of grain. He rose early in the morning, biked to work (as he always does) and brewed 20,000 Brews by the Sea.
