Raising a Glass (or Three) to Rogue Harvest

Three Rogue ales herald the arrival of Harvest at Rogue Farms.

At Rogue Ales & Spirits, we believe in growing our own. That means growing hops, barley, rye, pumpkins, marionberries, cucumbers, honey and several other ingredients used to craft our ales, lagers, spirits, ciders and sodas. We plant, grow and harvest those ingredients ourselves. And harvest has arrived.

Harvest is a busy time of year. In just the last few weeks, we’ve combined our malting barley, collected our pumpkin crop, gathered our rye and more harvests have arrived or are on the horizon.

Pumpkin Patch Ale is only brewed when the pumpkins are ready.

With harvest season come three brews crafted with ingredients direct from our two Rogue Farms in Independence and Tygh Valley, Oregon.

Pumpkin Patch Ale, a fall favorite, can only be brewed when our pumpkins are ready. Mother Nature decides when that is. We harvested pumpkins in mid-August, drove them 77 miles to our headquarters in Newport, Oregon and brewed the beer within days. Soon we’ll be bottling it.

Fresh Roast is crafted with freshly roasted Rogue Farms Malts.

Fresh Roast, a brown ale, is created from Rogue Farms Barley that we fresh roast at the brewery in a coffee roaster before rushing it to the brew kettle. The resulting brew smells of a cup of coffee in the morning.

Promise Gone Aw-Rye IPA, our newest harvest ale, brings our rye into play. Growing rye at Rogue Farms has proven to be one of the most challenging ingredients we’ve grown at Rogue. This Rye IPA is a testament to our dedication to growing beer. Read more about Promise Gone Aw-Rye here.
