The Hops Are Doing Just Fine on IPA Day
It’s 109° outside and we’re weeks away from harvest so let’s have an IPA.
Our 52 acres of aroma hops at Rogue Farms in Independence, Ore. are standing strong even as record heat sweeps across the Pacific Northwest. In fact, right now, they’re 36 feet high and they’re growing up to 12 inches per day.
Temperatures are climbing this week but they are a hearty plant and they should be fine as long as we keep watering them properly. Sometimes extreme heat can make the plants shut down to protect themselves but once temperatures return to normal, we’ll see if they had any effect. We might even be harvesting them by the middle of this month.
Meanwhile we’re sweating like crazy. So how about an IPA on IPA Day?
We’ve got five IPAs, each crafted with the hops we grow ourselves.
Which Hop Family IPA will you be drinking in honor or IPA Day?
