Gaming Full Speed Ahead!
Hello everyone, I hope you all have had an excellent week. It was a slow week for Rogue so today I would like to share with you some new developments within the Komodo eco-system for gaming.
Pictured here is an image of an independent Unity RPC client for Komodo, it is C# coding language that works with the Unity 3D Game Engine and a developer library to interact with the Komodo Daemon RPC API. What does that mean in non-dev, you ask? It demonstrates that the Unity 3D engine can work with Komodo platforms blockchains easily. This is the first big step in bridging a gap between game development and Komodo.
What this is specific one is doing is requesting the data from cclib (crypto conditions smart contract that allows custom logic, in this case from Rogue) and returning a response in JSON which can be used in any possible way.
The black portion of this image is acting as a terminal, it can capture input and execute these RPC methods at runtime.
That is a pretty exciting new tool, and there is more! There is also an UNREAL one being worked on at this very moment! Unity accounts for about 50% of games that exist at the current point in time. Unreal for an additional 25% or so. This really is all a huge step forward for Komodo based gaming projects. I can’t wait to see what is to come.
Now, one last small sized bit of info with a large punch. A Real-Time Strategy demo has been in creation for the last few days, WARCHAIN. It’s Orcs VS ELVES on the blockchain and it serves to demo the unity plugin and serves as an example of what can be done now, in a very quick fashion. The last few days have been quite fun with the community helping create the demo from everyone's story ideas, features, voices and layout. Another great example of why the Komodo community is the best place for any project. Thanks to everyone to has pitched in, especially the devs behind all these new features.
