The author moved to Portugal for two months and had plenty of time to pick up the GFX 50SII and shoot everywhere…I saw the introduction and photos of Oriento station on the internet and thought it was extraordinary, so I went to Oriento train station twice to take Xpan-view photos. I tried not to look at any pictures of the station before shooting and wanted to see the station from the author’s point of view.
The Oriente Station, inaugurated in 1998, is the central train station of Lisbon. Designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, it is a significant transit station that combines a train, subway, long-distance bus transportation hub, and a shopping mall opened in 1998 in anticipation of the World Expo. Nearly two decades later, he was responsible for New York’s new World Trade Center station, using the same materials and iconic design.
