Ronaldinho, a famous soccer player, has always promoted charity and bettering lives of children through engaging them into football. When he retired from soccer in early 2018, he decided to commit to these goals even more. The World Soccer Coin joins efforts with Ronaldinho to bring forward Ronaldinho Soccer Coin (RSC).

Football couldn’t care less about money

You bet. Just look at Ronaldinho. Although he was born in a pretty poor and scrappy neighborhood in Brazil, soccer was a popular pastime for kids from all economic backgrounds.

Ronaldinho was born into a soccer family. His dad was a prominent player in Brazil, his brother was playing professionally too. The start-to-be won hugely from all that positive role-modeling and support that came to him. It’s this “atmosphere” that drove him to win World Cup and play for behemoths like F.C. Barcelona and A.C. Milan.

However, many other kids who might be just as talented never got a chance to hone their skills and play soccer amateur or professionally.

That’s how it was 30 years ago. And now? And now it’s getting even more complicated.

Sports are becoming a luxury

You would think that sport will become more and more accessible with improvements in economics, democracy and tech. But, sports — including soccer — is turning into a luxury.

As a 2017 article in Time shows, parents in the US pay from $1,000 up to $25,000 per year for each child to do a particular sport. Usually, kids start playing locally with minimum costs, but then expenses start to add up. One ballet mom saw it herself when started to pay $20,000 for her daughter’s penchant to dance.

Something needs to change

Kids — wherever they live — should have more opportunities to play sports. Ronaldinho and RSC work hard to bring soccer closer to local kids even, irrespective of where they live. Below, we talk about the major initiatives we plan to implement with the help of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology and latest tech solutions, such as AI, VR and AR.

#1 Soccer Academies

Soccer Academies will help young players train at our “Digital Stadiums”, where they will enjoy high-quality pitch cover and use of latest tech solutions, including cameras and sensor systems. The AI-powered system will process video and data feeds. Expert coaches from all over the world will be able to analyze data and give local kids valuable tips on improving their play. This is how we plan to “democratize” training in soccer and engage kids from various backgrounds.

Getting tips like that can be decisive in helping kids learn soccer and move on to amateur playing. In addition, we’ll connect football clubs, enabling them scout rising talents early on.

#2 Super League

Together with Ronaldinho, we will promote local matches, open to kids in the vicinity. Today, more and more clubs pick the best players from an area and ask them to travel for hours to play. Those kids, who don’t have the means, fall out.

Should they stop playing soccer? Our answer is resounding “no”. The network of “Digital Stadiums” will return soccer to local communities.

The best performing teams will get the chance to participate in the Championship Tournament and show their true colors, competing against most talented kids.

Importantly, participation will be opened to any kids with basic play skills. We believe in equality. However, in the poorest neighborhoods we’ll act differently.

#3 Smile Project

Smile Project will deliver footballs to underprivileged kids. Just getting your own ball can be a game-changer, if it’s your first. Hard to understand in developed countries, this can make a huge difference for toughest locales and deliver bigger results as compared to charity campaigns in more affluent districts.

In addition, “Digital Stadiums” will have special equipment to facilitate play by wheelchair-bound kids and those with vision impairments, brain paralysis and amputated limbs.

Sport can be lots of fun. With so many crypto projects, finding the winner can be tough. Go with your gut, join the project that wants to bring fun and joy to local kids by promoting football, competitiveness and accessibility globally.
