Artem Popov, co-founder of Roobee and a 300,000+ member community of investors, met with James Ratigan in New York.
James Ratigan is an Executive director of professional programs Baruch College. Is responsible for all non-credit business programs in the Division of Continuing and Professional Studies of Baruch College, also in charge of Corporate Learning services that provides customize training for small businesses, mid-sized companies, and government agencies.
Artem met with James at Baruch College. They had a talk on trading, investing, and the market in general. James told that the college has its own trading floor connected to the New York City Stock Exchange and invited Artem to try his hand at trading.
Initially, the trading floor at Baruch College’s Subotnick Financial Services Center was a virtual one. Students used it to hone their trading skills.
After the 9/11 tragedy, REFCO Vice President Jeffrey Bauml focused on finding a new office for employees. He remembered that Baruch College had opened a Financial Services Center 18 months back, so he sought for assistance there.
Bruce Weber, director of the Subotnick Center immediately went into action in order to turn this place from a simulated trading environment into a real trading room — a temporary home and place of work for around 30 of Wall Street brokers.
