Amidst a downpour and thunderstorms, Andretti Autosport, a Rook Security partner, shined bright Saturday in Race 1 of the Chevy Duals in Detroit finishing 1–2.

Carlos Munoz notched his first career victory in the Verizon IndyCar Series and gave Andretti Autosport its first win of 2015 with teammate Marco Andretti placing second. After staying on the track with slick tires, Munoz took the lead from Andretti on Lap 40 and led the remaining eight laps until IndyCar called the race for severe weather conditions.

Munoz, a native of Colombia, gave Andretti Autosport its first win at Belle Isle since Tony Kanaan in 2007. Munoz’s №26 Andretti TV Cinsay machine also gave Honda its second victory of the season.

Andretti led a race-high 23 laps and registered his best finish of the season. It was the driver of the №26 Merchant First/Snapple machine’s best finish since a second place at Barber Motorsports Park in 2014.

2012 Verizon IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay finished 13th in Race 1.

Race 2

On Sunday, Andretti Autosport continued its weekend success in Race 2 of the Chevy Duals in Detroit with two Top 10 finishes.

Andretti finished fifth in Race 2, earning back-to-back Top 5 finishes. With a sixth place finish at the 2015 Indianapolis 500, a runner-up finish in Race 1 and a fifth place finish in Race 2 of the Chevy Duals, Andretti is in the midst of a career hot streak. His average finish of 4.33 in the past three races is the best three-race span of Andretti’s 10-year IndyCar career.

Hunter-Reay brought his №28 DHL Honda home in eighth place and earned his third Top 10 of the season.

A mechanical issue ended Munoz’s day early in Race 2 as he finished 23rd at the 2.3-mile Belle Isle course.

Rook Security and Andretti Autosport’s partnership began when the 2014 Indianapolis 500 champions needed industry-leading capabilities to detect and respond to attacks against its proprietary technology, specifications, and track data. This partnership will expand to incorporate new leading technology developed by Rook Security. These managed technologies will be used to protect race data created by Andretti for use in research and development and within the engineering stands on pit lane.
