Rook Security information security professional Michael Spahn has recently earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

A CIPP/US credential demonstrates a strong foundation in U.S. private-sector privacy laws and regulations as well as the understanding of the legal requirements for the responsible transfer of sensitive personal data to and from the U.S., the European Union and other jurisdictions.

As the information economy continues to explode, companies must balance the potential privacy risks with the opportunities to extract great value from the data. Central to managing this issue is the need for an organization to have the expertise in its workforce to identify potential problem areas before they become an issue.

Spahn joins the ranks of more than 13,000 professionals worldwide that hold one or more IAPP certifications.
