Where there’s a will and a WiFi connect, there’s a way to get work done, and happily, Williamsburg has an abundance of coffee shops and coworking spaces to explore.

Filled with boutiques, restaurants, bars, and unique shopping, Williamsburg is a young, vibrant neighborhood to take advantage of. And if you plan your day right, you can work on the go, popping into a space or cafe with your laptop in tow, before heading off to the hot sauce store or the waterfront.

Without further ado, here our list of our favorite places to be productive in the area:

Class & Co

Class & Co, right off the Graham Avenue stop on the L, is a coworking and educational space that feels like a cozy artist studio. There’s plenty of natural light from the surrounding windows, and long community tables to sit and focus. The team is also very encouraging and friendly, so it’s hard not to strike up a conversation with neighbors in the space. Keep an eye out for their upcoming events too. They host everything from storytelling to film talks.

Partners Coffee

Formerly Toby’s Estate, Partners Coffee, located right off of Bedford Avenue, is a staple for laptop sitters and coffee lovers in the area. A few available outlets and real smooth espresso means you and your laptop get to recharge, and artisanal baked goods and gluten free options are really just the sugar on top.

The Yard

The Yard South Williamsburg is a bold and minimal coworking space. It also has a few floors full of a variety of seats. You can sit at communal tables or hang out at different lounge areas on really colorful couches and seats. If you have to take important calls, they also have phone booths, perfect for popping in for important video chats. As a bonus, this space also has a few great restaurants and bars nearby.

Freehold

It’s hard to truly describe the magic of Freehold. Freehold’s a restaurant and lounge with excellent cocktails and pub fare. It’s also a really popular nightlife spot. And during the day, the couches, booths, and tables are open to remote workers and freelancers and their laptops. You can order coffee, charge your computer, sit in their outdoor space, and stay all day until cocktail hour.

Devocion

Devocion is sort of like the elegant study you’ve only seen in movies meets cafe. It makes sense seeing as it is in a former warehouse. The space is also prime Instagram candy with its exposed brick, reclaimed wood, and steel beams. You can grab a seat on the tufted leather couches or quaint cafe tables around and enjoy the fresh smell of Colombian coffee roasting in house.

New Work Project

When trying to describe New Work Project, the words “chic, artist loft space” immediately come to mind. Thoughtfully designed, the modern coworking space has a calming yet productive presence when you enter. Details from the artwork, to the hardware, to the long white marble bar stand out and keep a zen vibe while you work. You can keep focused at a seat at the bar or communal table, and you can step into a phone booth or sit at the couches for a quick call.

City of Saints Coffee Roasters

Excellent espresso, delightful Supermoon croissants, and WiFi make for a perfect coffee shop to hole away while you finish that to-do list. We know it’s a trendy taboo word, but they put such care into their coffee and steamed milk, dare we call the place “artisanal”? The menu has a few standouts you really should try, like the lavender agave latte, but you won’t be displeased by a regular espresso drink either. There’s seating along the window and a few by the counter too. As a head’s up there aren’t too many outlets, so be sure to come fully charged.

Rough Draft

Rough Draft is a cozy coworking space right off of Hooper Street. There are two levels for working, though the basement is usually used for conference room time. The design is eclectic and cozy with details like typewriters, mod furniture, and old school cameras on the shelves. The main floor looks out on the street through the surrounding windows, and you can grab a desk that faces out for optimum natural light, to focus, or to just people watch. You can also post up at the communal table or one of the lounge chairs nearby, all the better to strike up a conversation with someone new.
