First and foremost, we all have different definitions of what an Entrepreneur does. It’s a bit of vague term when it comes to describing what you actually do within an organization. Quite honestly, that’s a part of why we love entrepreneurship; you need to continuously figure out ways of reaching new heights in your ventures, no matter the industry.

“What does that have to do with coding?”

A crucial part of being an Entrepreneur, is to have an intimate understanding of every aspect of your business. The success of the organization at the end of the day is your biggest responsibility.

Learning how to code will give you a set of skills, which we like to call “Thinking Patterns”, that will enable you to interact with your business or startup in fascinating ways and astute perspectives.

“But I already have amazing developers on my team, shouldn’t I do what I do best, and let the dev folks handle their business?”

One of the hardest tasks for organizations to accomplish is getting everyone on a team to be on the same page and work harmoniously. Once that’s achieved, the success of the organization becomes a matter of time and effort.

As a Co/Founder of a startup, you are the live representation of your organization, you have a strong sense of leadership towards your team, and as a leader, learning how to code will inspire and empower your team to follow in your footsteps with their own learning goals.

I’m not suggesting that you start working on the production code of your product as a learning play ground, might not be the most successful route for your company ☺

However, I do highly recommend being code literate as it demonstrates one of the qualities of every great leader, being relatable.

“What was that thing you mentioned about Thinking Patters?”

We each look at the world in our very own unique way. Our perspectives are unique, mostly because they are formed by the events that happened to us in our life times, and more importantly how we responded.

Learning how to code will increase your mental capacity to think systematically and with logic, combined with your entrepreneurial intuition, considering about all the different possibilities and picking the best choice will be second nature. You mind will transform how it looks at the world, advancing your perspectives further.

I wish you all the best on your ventures.
