$20 For A Beer At A Concert: Should This Even Be Legal?
I can’t imagine being the person selling these beers all night
You might be able to relate to the experience I had the other night at a concert my wife and I saw at Los Angeles’s fantastic Greek Theatre.
I haven’t drank a lick of alcohol since the third week of June. Call it an extended dry July.
I like to do this once in a while just for the heck of it. My wife has been right there with me.
But, after walking a good 30 minutes in warm and humid weather to get to the venue, we were in the mood for a cold beer.
So I approached the Modelo-branded concession stand set up — without a line — just behind us.
I see Coors Light, Modelo and a hazy IPA on display.
Knowing that beer prices are a joke at venues, I’m always prepared to pay more than I’m comfortable with. More than I should. But we’re out. We’re having fun. We haven’t been spending money on beer and such lately. And we’re comfortable, if not doing well financially.
So, after all the rationalizing, I do what I always do in this situation: buy the middle.
While I don’t hate Coors Light, I don’t love it. Even though (I assume) it’s the least expensive…
