An ice cream tour of Richmond, VA
A six-stop itinerary, plus food and fun activities along the way
They say “write what you know,” so I am here to tell you about eating ice cream in Richmond.
Last summer, my sister-in-law came to visit Richmond and we wanted to find a unique way to spend time together and show her around the city. We decided to spend the afternoon on an ice cream tour of Richmond. One of my favorite ways to travel is to turn something relatively normal (like getting ice cream!) into something bigger: Getting a scoop of ice cream is a fine activity, but going to six ice cream places across the city in one day is an event.
This was a 10/10 way to spend a few hours, and if you find yourself in Richmond with a car, a sweet tooth, and a little ice cream spending money, you can do it, too. Here’s the itinerary!
Each stop includes a walking-distance suggestion of a thing to do to give some space between ice cream eating, and a quick food suggestion in case you need to eat something that’s not ice cream (why you would need this, I’m not sure, but you’ll be near some good food spots along your route).
