At ROSE, we are constantly looking for advancements and inspiration within the XR community. Check out some of the latest XR experiences making a splash in our May/June XR round-up!

1. Apple Vision Pro

At the 2023 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference Apple unveiled the long-awaited Vision Pro, their extended reality headset. This compact headset seamlessly blends the real world with Apple’s new virtual interface, visionOS. Unlike other extended reality headsets, this new device does not require motion controllers for navigation. Users can fully operate the headset using only their eyes, voice and hands.

When announcing the new device, Tim Cook said that “Today marks the beginning of a new era for computing. Just as the Mac introduced us to personal computing, and iPhone introduced us to mobile computing, Apple Vision Pro introduces us to spatial computing. Built upon decades of Apple innovation, Vision Pro is years ahead and unlike anything created before — with a revolutionary new input system and thousands of groundbreaking innovations. It unlocks incredible experiences for our users and exciting new opportunities for our developers.”

The Vision Pro will become available in early 2024 for $3,499, and will be compatible with several pre-existing Apple apps and devices.

Zero10 is a fashion AR try-on company that offers fashion brands, designers, and users a highly realistic and top-notch virtual try-on experience. They have recently shared their newest AR store prototype, made up of a Zero10 AR Mirror and an iPad. 5. Premier League’s AR Trophy Hunt

In partnership with Premier League and Doppelgänger, ROSE created an augmented reality trophy hunt where fans have a chance to hunt for Premier League club trophies in five cities across the USA. Users in the Maryland/D.C., Philadelphia, Orlando, New York/New Jersey, and Atlanta areas can use the in-experience map to discover and locate 20 trophies in the run up to Premier League’s first-ever Summer Series. Upon entering a trophy boundary, users tap to place to reveal a 3D trophy and collect the respective badge to add to their trophy cabinet collection. By collecting trophies around the city, users gain entries into Premier League’s Summer Series giveaway. Fans can take photos and videos with their collected trophy, as well as turn themselves into the trophy using the face filter. For fans outside of the participating cities, an at-home version allows users to support their favorite team and experience a trophy reveal in AR.
