1. Welcome to Chesterville!

To celebrate Halloween, Cheetos and Meta partnered together to create Chesterville, a suburban neighborhood inside Horizon Worlds. Once a user enters this VR space the goal is to cause mischief. Each time a user TPs a tree, for example, their mischief meter rises and they are one step closer to opening the front gates of the spooky mansion. Once a player has caused enough mischief, they are able to enter the gates and vote to resurrect a discontinued Cheetos flavor.

This experience is available for free on Meta Quest 2.

2. Bring Your Next Tattoo to Life

EyeJack is an art and technology company that specializes in augmented reality to create one-of-a-kind experiences. By utilizing the EyeJack app, users have been able to bring their tattoos to life using AR animation. The first step is to choose the tattoo design. There are a few criteria to keep in mind when selecting the design because this will act as the image trigger for the experience.

“One thing to be wary about with AR is you don’t want the trigger image to be distorted too much, so flatter the better. If it wraps and distorts too much around your arm the tracking for the AR will be off,” advised Pixelpuncha, Augmented Reality artist.

Users can then create the animation that layers on top of the physical tattoo in AR using the app. Music or sound effects can also be used to bring the artwork to life.
