How to install Adobe Lightroom CC 2022

(Included: Basic tutorial to edit an image)

Introduction

This document acts as a self-help guide to install Adobe Lightroom 4.4. This guide further provides a basic tutorial on editing an image via the app.

Prerequisites -

• An Adobe account
• A stable internet connection

Note: All buttons mentioned in this document are written inside inverted commas (‘’).

All menu items are written in Bold.

Pre-requisites installation

It is necessary to create an Adobe account to use the Lightroom software. If you already have an Adobe account, sign in here.

Else, please follow the instructions below to create your account and install Adobe Lightroom. Create an Adobe account

1. Enter the Adobe.com website.

2. Click the ‘Sign In’ button at the top right corner of the page.

3. Click the ‘Create an account’ button written in blue.

Note: You can access a free 7 day trial of the software before committing to a purchase.

1. Type Lightroom in the search bar at the top right of the page. Or you can click on the ‘Creativity’ drop-down menu and select Lightroom from the displayed list.

2. You will be redirected to the Adobe Lightroom download page.

3. Here, you can choose if you want to try the software for seven days or directly purchase it. Click either the ‘Free trial’ or the ‘Buy now’ button. If you choose to buy Lightroom, you will still be entitled to the trial period and your payment will be charged at the end of the trial.

4. After clicking either of those buttons, you will be directed to the page below. Select your preference and click ‘Continue’.

5. Select the preferred Adobe plan, click ‘Continue’. And select the payment plan and click ‘Continue’ as well.

6. Add your payment details and and ‘Download’ the app onto your computer.

7. You’re all set. Now you can access Adobe Lightroom. Happy Editing!

Tutorial to edit an image

The following tutorial is a basic demonstration of how to upload and edit a photograph on Lightroom.

Note — There are several ways to make a photo look good. Please note that the instructions below are the most basic and are intended for beginner users with zero experience in using Lightroom.

1. Open the Lightroom app on your computer.
2. Click ‘Add Photos’ on the top left corner of the app.

3. Select one/multiple photos you want to edit from the pop-up window and click ‘ Review for Import’.

4. Select all the needed photos and click ‘Add Photo’ on the top right corner of the window.

5. Click the window icon at the top left corner to enable the editing mode. You can press ‘E’ on the keyboard to enter the edit mode as well.

6. The vertical menu bar has several types of editing tools to make an image better.

7. You can use the Point Curve graph or the Light options to edit the Exposure, Contrast, Shadows, etc. of the photograph. Use the sliders for each Light option and figure out how you would like the outcome of the photo.

8. You can adjust the colors of the photo by using the Color tool. Select from a list of pre-defined color templates or slide the Temp, Tint, Vibrance, and Saturation options.

9. Use the Effects option to change the texture of the image from smooth to grainy. And the Detail option can give the photo a sharper look.

10. Editing a photo is a highly personalized thing. This tutorial entails the mere basics to edit a photo. Feel free to explore the wide range of editing choices in the menu bar and you will end up with a great-looking photograph. Have fun!
