Police Body Cameras

Police misconduct has become a rising issue in the world, it seems that every time you turn around the news is reporting another incident in which a police officer has committed a heinous act of misconduct. To counter this epidemic many people, and police, are swaying toward the use of body cameras, they believe that these cameras can help keep each other in check. (Wesley G. Jennings et al) Statistics for body cameras differ across my sources, however, most of them show a decrease in crime rates. Some very large decreases and some a bit slighter, but none of the sources showed any increase in crime rates during the use of the body cameras.

I sit on my computer, looking through the news, and I start to notice a rising trend. Of course I saw President Trumps face quite a few times, but what really caught my attention was the increasing number of reports on police misconduct. This led my to look into possible resolutions to this ongoing outbreak of misconduct. One thing came to my mind, and that was body worn video cameras on police officers. As it turns out, these cameras are not as taboo as one might think, citizens and police alike believe that body cameras can help keep each other in check. (Wesley G. Jennings, et al) While there are some drawbacks to body worn video cameras on police officers, my opinion is that they could help the rising conflict.

In my revised paragraph I took a look at not only the structure of the paragraph but the content. I inserted anecdotes to hook the reader in, and I even added in a few new sentences. Adding in the different wording and content of this paragraph could potential make this paragraph easier to read while getting my point better. I made my language more concise and also more effective.
