Meet the Geek Squad: 3 Fact Group Members, 2 Neighbors, 2 Section 4 Representatives, 2 Football Enthusiasts (in the European Sense)… all with a passion for social impact. Like, comment, and subscribe to follow our journey this month as we traverse through Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri and Detroit to work and learn with different Black-owned social enterprises!

Summer Abiad
Summer proudly claims New Jersey as her home state, but has also called Davidson, NC; Chicago, IL; and now Ann Arbor as home. After studying economics at Davidson, College she worked for Accenture Strategy for various healthcare clients. She is energized by the intersection of business and social impact and is looking forward to working with so many great social entrepreneurs this month.

For fun Summer enjoys being in the water (swimming, diving, surfing, snorkeling), seeking live music performances (concerts, theatre, requesting her musically talented friends to play songs), and eating dessert.

Messeret Kebede
Born and raised in the Boston area, Messeret loves repping a city with some of the best food and sports teams in the country! Before business school, she worked as a human capital consultant at Deloitte in Washington, DC where she helped clients foster more inclusive workplaces so that employees of all backgrounds were engaged in their work and could thrive. Messeret is pursuing an MBA to explore how technology can be used to remove barriers to accessing health and wellness resources for all.

Messeret loves being outside in nature, at a farmers market, on a rooftop, you name it — as long as the weather is good!

Chisom Uche
Chisom is from Houston, TX but spent the last 11 years in St. Louis, MO before moving to Ann Arbor. After graduation from WashU, he returned to St. Louis and worked for a startup through the Venture for America fellowship for two years, and then made the transition to a 5-year career in venture capital working for SixThirty Ventures. Chisom enjoys exploring opportunities that leverage novel technology to address important business and societal issues.

For fun, Chisom enjoys being a dog dad, sports, discovering new music, eating chocolate and ice cream, and avoiding the winter.

Joss Woodhead
From London originally, Joss is a rising second-year MBA student passionate about social impact, sustainability, and all other impact-oriented topics. He has ~5 years of experience in wealth management and private equity, and previously took 12 months out of his career to undertake volunteering and fundraising across Asia, Africa, the US, and Europe. He also loves football (soccer!) and will be working in consulting this summer.

Bowde Uche
Bowde is our team mascot who just turned 7! He enjoys walks, toys, water, and showing off his tricks for treats.
