Ankita Bansal

Meet Ankita, the globetrotting architect with a passion for sustainability. Ankita’s love for travel is as big as her love for adventure. She’s always up for exploring new places, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. She’s lived in India, Qatar, Oman, and UAE, and each place has left a lasting impression on her.

She’s got a thirst for adrenaline, and nothing can stop her from living life to the fullest. She loves to drive and experience action sports such as river rafting, skydiving, and driving ATVs. But that’s not all! Ankita is also a fan of road trips, and she’s always down for an epic adventure. She believes that road trips are the perfect opportunity to see new places, meet new people, and make a positive impact in the community. Plus, they’re just plain fun!

Jennifer Ugheoke

Jennifer spent her childhood in Huntsville Alabama, but calls Birmingham her home! She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (very important distinction iykyk). She spent over four years in the financial technology industry, as a project manager who has leading data migration and solutions implementation in financial institutions. But her true passion lies in marketing, particularly in the healthcare sector.

This summer, Jennifer is excited to be interning at Medtronic as a marketing intern! When she’s not hard at work, Jennifer enjoys reading, watching reality tv (Love Island UK is the G.O.A.T), and spending quality time with her loved ones.

Zach Nerod

Zach grew up in Connecticut before going to undergrad at the University of Michigan, where he studied Economics and Environmental Studies (and Michigan Athletics). After school, he spent two years in Denver and two more in New York, having a whole lot of fun while also working in the solar industry, before coming back to Michigan for graduate school.

He is in his second year with the Erb Institute, and is passionate about fighting climate change while building economically resilient communities! This summer, Zach will be working at Newlab in Detroit, while trying to soak up as much summer sun as he can!

Hayley Sakwa

Hayley grew up in metro Detroit, which inspired her passion for local economic development as a tool to address racial and economic inequality. She can’t get enough of Ann Arbor — she received an undergraduate degree in Organizational Studies from University of Michigan, and is now pursuing a dual masters in business and public policy.

Before coming back to school, Hayley worked towards strengthening Michigan’s local food system, first as a non-profit community coordinator and then as a farm-to-institution sales rep. She also spent a year doing volunteer-based travel in Argentina, Japan, Central Europe and Israel/Palestine. In grad school, she’s focused on learning everything she can about financial inclusion, ethical supply chains, and solar development in the Midwest. Her road trip music of choice ranges from The Tallest Man on Earth to Fleetwood Mac to pop-punk throwback classics.
