After a great week in Columbus working with the LC and the Zora’s House team, we headed town south to Nashville, TN to work with a Courtney Hale and Super Money Kids. Super Money Kids is an awesome organization doing work to improve youth financial literacy. After meeting with Courtney and hearing his story, we were absolutely ‘Geeked’ to spend the week with him. Super Money Kids was created by the whole Hale family- Courtney, Ever, and Tia, who passed away in May 2020. Super Money Kids initially started as Knowledge Bank and came from the desire to find an engaging and effective way to introduce the topics of Money and Finance to Ever.

Fun fact: Courtney and his daughter, Ever, have been on The Ellen Show which you can check out here.

One of the products that Knowledge Bank created was the Super Money Kid Bank, 3 individual banks for teaching lessons on Saving, Spending, and Sharing with complimenting guided questions for weekly money goals, key financial terms, and simple explanations for money tracking.

After a lovely first meeting at a local coffee shop, we got started on our project to think about what sort of metrics that should be tracking to better measure their impact. We spent the week working out of Studio Bank, a cool community-oriented digital bank that was kind enough to lend us space for the week, and also one of Courtney’s many many MANY close connections.

Needless to say, we feel very fond of Super Money Kids’, Courtney, and the experience we had in Nashville getting to know Courtney and some of his supporters, sharing meals, and exploring the music-filled city. Looking for a great gift for a young person? Consider a Super Money Kid Bank.

P.S.

We also had the fun-random occurrence of all three Open Road teams being in Nashville at the same time! So you know we had to get together for a meal. #GoBlueGoAnywhere
