Lucky Car, Austria’s leading contract-free car repair shop, is increasingly relying on blockchain technology as part of its digitalization strategy. For this purpose, the car professionals brought the expertise of Crypto Future on board.

Together at full speed along the blockchain highway: at the automotive repair shop chain Lucky Car, the signs are currently all set for digitization. In addition to other technologies, automotive professionals are intensively dealing with the topic of blockchain. “We are thinking a lot about the future, both in terms of our role as a mobility guarantor and about the area of workshop technology. That’s why we are currently reviewing all our operational processes for their blockchain suitability and are already evaluating initial measures”, explains Lucky Car Managing Director Mitar Kos. However, this is not possible without a competent partner at our side. Lucky Car, therefore, relies on the know-how of Crypto Future for implementation.

Leading the way for an entire industry

Founded in 2017, the Viennese company has become one of the most important domestic players in the FinTech sector in recent years. One of the reasons for this is the successful ICO (Initial Coin Offering) of Rotharium, which is one of the first cryptocurrencies made in Austria, back in 2017. “The team at Crypto Future has proven in the past that they can successfully accompany companies in digitization processes. Thus, cooperation was a logical step for us,” Kos said. Tomislav Matic, founder of Crypto Future added: “Lucky Car wants to use blockchain to optimize workflows in the automotive industry. This includes using innovative and disruptive technologies to further develop the company’s structure — which could be groundbreaking for the entire automotive industry”.

Crypto pilot

This also includes implementing cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. “Our customers are requesting to pay with coins increasingly, especially in the Austrian federal states”, Kos explains. A suitable pilot project is therefore scheduled to start shortly at a Lucky Car location in southern Lower Austria. Initially, payment will be possible with the top dogs Ethereum and Bitcoin. “Rotharium will also be available as an Austrian coin in the foreseeable future”, says Matic. Given Crypto Future’s involvement — only logical.

The implementation of blockchain technology is important for Lucky Car not only for sales but also for procurement. According to Kos, threatening supply bottlenecks for spare car parts could be better cushioned in this way: “Currently, we have not yet been affected by supply problems, but this issue will come our way. If parts from Europe are no longer available, we will have to import them from overseas or the Far East”. The Crypto Future CEO adds, “Crypto-assets offer a huge advantage in terms of payment here”.

In terms of digitalization, Lucky Car will also soon offer the option of making an appointment online via its website. In addition, a Lucky Car customer app is also in the evaluation phase. The expertise of Crypto Future could also come into play in this area.
