Plot :

It all starts with a man named Chris Kyle who was nothing more than a man from Texas, who has always dreamed of becoming a cowboy someday. But once in his thirties he thought that maybe his life needed something different or that it needed to go in a different direction, a different direction that would then lead him to something new to where he could express his real talent he has had since he was young . He wanted to do something that could help the country he loves and cherishes the most, in the battle against terrorism. So he decided he wanted to join the SEALs to go on and become a sniper. Later after marrying a woman he met at a bar he was drinking at; Chris and the other members of the team are called in for their first tour of Iraq. But when Chris gets to Iraq he is not just a regular sniper, he is one of the most lethal snipers in American history. His great accuracy helps him save many lives while in the war, but it also helps him become the prime target of his enemies, and also catches him a bounty for a pretty penny over his head. When he is at war Chris’ struggle really isn’t with the missions he is on, but it is more about his relationship with the reality of the war, and when he later returned to his home, how he exactly manages to handle it with the urban life that he lives with his wife and kids. Because once he returns home he realizes that he cannot really leave the war behind so easily which leads him to serving four tours.

Acting:

With the star Bradley Cooper in this movie I definitely do believe that it is safe to say that this movie is very well acted out. Through the whole movie you get the opportunity to feel the same things that Chris is feeling while he is at war. It sparks a kind of “what would I do” feeling whenever things get tough for Chris. You can also get the sense of emotion that all of the other characters are feeling because everything is acted out so cleanly and precisely. Through the movie I feel as if I am actually there with the characters or as if I am one those specific characters myself because of how deep and raw the emotion is being shown. I feel that the cast that they chose was the perfect cast, it seemed like everyone knew what they were supposed to be doing and how to get it done in the most successful way possible. Like i said they really give you the full effect of different emotions and feelings in the many different scenes. I do not get a sense of fake feeling or feel that the acting is ever really too dramatic. Also, I never see any bad acting at all through the whole movie I really enjoy the way that they execute everything so nicely.

Cast:

This cast consists of some pretty well-known names from many other movies such as Bradley Cooper, Cory Hardrict, Sienna miller, Luke Grimes, and many other actors and actresses. I believe that there is a good diversity of talent and personality in this cast, I feel that everyone brings their own edge that helps make the movie as good as it is. I feel that when you see all of these amazing actors and actresses together in one movie you can expect an amazing movie every time. This would definitely be the last group I would think of to be in a bad movie. I would love seeing a lot of these people back in more military movies or even other genres of movies acting alongside each other. It seems like you can always rely on them to produce and get the job done very well.

Has it aged well?:

The movie was first released in 2014 which makes it only five years old, but I definitely believe that no matter when it was released it would still have the same positive audience behind it. It is now 2019 and I am still enjoying watching the movie just as much as I did when it first came out. I feel that it is one of those movies that will never really get old because of the emotions you feel when watching it. So, I honestly expect for this movie to still be a fan favorite many years down the road. This is just a very symbolic movie and it really helps you understand and respect all the things that people in the military do and have to go through to protect the country that they love the most, it really touches your heart.

Movie Rating:

In a rating system, out of ten I would definitely give it a ten but obviously there is always some minor things that need to be fixed to make a perfect movie, but a perfect movie can only be obtained by meeting a certain person’s standards for what a perfect movie should be. So realistically I find that this movie deserves an eight and a half to a nine and a half simply because of how well put together the whole movie is, you have an amazing group of producers in Clint Eastwood who was also the director of the film and then you have Robert Lorenzo, Andrew Lazar, Bradley Cooper, and Peter Morgan all producing this movie. I honestly could not find much wrong with this movie at all. I feel that this would be a perfect movie for anyone who really enjoys watching military movies or it could even be for someone who wants to watch something that will change their perspective or open their eyes to the hardships of families in the war and back home. I also feel that the movie gives you that motivation to get out there and do something positive no matter what age or stage you are in in your life. So if you have not seen this movie yet it should definitely be on your watch next list.
