For the first issue of Vol.3 of Rough Draft, we want to explore what being a creative means to you and what you think about when undertaking a new project. A space for critical reflection, Rough Draft is looking for contributions that discuss:
- Inspiration and Motivation: Where do you seek inspiration? How do you recharge? And how do these impact the work that you do
- Inclusivity: Who are you creating for? Who is involved in the creative process? How can a creative process be inclusive?
- Multidisciplinary projects: How do you balance the demands, expectations, and ethics of different disciplines? What can be gained for engaging with several fields of expertise? How do you bring together these diverse sources of knowledge?
- Collaborations and co-creations: What are the benefits and challenges of working with your clients, audiences, subjects, sources, etc.? What structure do you adopt and how does it impact the resulting project?
- The underbelly: What are the darker sides of the creative process? How do we address them?
- Knowledge creation: How is the knowledge your creative process generate created, recorded and shared? Who benefits most from it?
- Ethics: What principles underpin your creative process? Why are those important to you? Why should others consider applying them too?

Rough Draft, an online publication supported by the FCAD One Ten, Ryerson University’s creative incubator, (made up of the Transmedia Zone, the Fashion Zone and the Design Fabrication Zone), as well as the Master’s of Media Production and the Master’s of Digital Media, is a space for creative entrepreneurs, scholars and practitioners to share their works and their reflections.
