Rough Draft Ventures is excited to support Micah Green and his team as they build Maidbot, a company developing innovative automation for the hospitality industry. Micah is joined by a team of hoteliers, rocket scientists, and brilliant engineers in his mission to bring robotics to new places.

Their first product, Rosie, focuses on cleaning commercial spaces — starting with rooms and public areas in hotels. Housekeeping is the highest variable cost at hotels, and automated solutions are needed. While existing robot vacuums do well as toys, Rosie uses path optimization and pattern matching for higher performance.

Studying at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration enabled Micah to understand these problems firsthand. After spending time as a room attendant in an actual hotel, he was able to secure funding, mentorship, and useful connections. As Rough Draft increases focus on New York, it’s become easier to connect with students on campuses like Cornell’s.

Maidbot recently debuted Rosie at the biggest hospitality conference of the year, and they will soon begin pilot programs with several major hotel companies. We’re thrilled to welcome Maidbot to the Rough Draft family and support the team as they move ahead!
