Each year at Rough Draft Ventures, we welcome a new student team — a group of students that fosters and supports emerging student founders across Boston, New York, and beyond. From hackathon organizers to computer science teaching assistants, these students are champions of tech and entrepreneurship on each of their campuses.

As a part of the RDV student team, these students connect with and support fellow students starting companies on campus. Each week, the team invites 2 -3 of the most promising companies to present to the broader group at a pitch meeting at the General Catalyst office.

They discuss the merits of the company’s technology, position in the market, the founding team, and fit within the larger RDV student founder community, ultimately making recommendations as to whether or not to back the founders with $25k. Team members work closely with 2–3 student founded companies they’re most excited about, helping to craft their first narrative, share their founding story with the extended student community, or get connected with mentors in the RDV community.

As this school year comes to a close, we’re excited to celebrate this year’s team and their next endeavors. Some are graduating to full time roles at companies like Facebook and Cadre while other are taking internships at companies like Snap and Doordash.

Here’s to the young talent catalyzing the technology industry of tomorrow!
