King of his world
Golden mane flowing
Strength beyond compare
Eyes shining with courage
Loved by all

King of his world
Treacherous acts betray
Cowards in the night
A reign ended too soon
Mourned by all

To learn more about Cecil’s story, visit Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, an organization I was unfamiliar with, until now.

If you’d like to donate to their cause (which I highly encourage!), visit Giving to WildCRU or University of Oxford North American Office (for those in the U.S.).
