Guest writers more than welcome — here’s what we want to see:

Book, film, television, or new media reviews

We’ll publish well-written reviews about crime/noir storytelling in all mediums. Yes, that includes podcast reviews. For books we want to see indie crime reviews…We’re not interested in the next Patterson book. Indie, people. Indie. Give us 500–1000 words.

Dispatches

We’d love to see noir ‘dispatches’ from folks all over the world. This means first-person accounts of noir-ish places and events. Went to a greasy pub or with buddies? Spend too much time in a rundown bowling alley? Did some bad shit go down? Write it up and send it. Think gonzo-journalism with a furious noir slant. Give us 250–500 words.

Fiction

Noir and crime fiction. You know the deal. Give us no more than 2500 words.

True Crime

Yep, we’d love to see true crime stories or journalistic pieces. Have something that you’re not sure works elsewhere? Send it through. Have an excerpt from a forthcoming book? Send it through. Length doesn’t matter.

Informative

If you want to do a guest post about your upcoming book or project (or your indie press), get in touch. Let’s do it. Preference to indie crime writers or big name folks who read and blurb indie crime (you know who you are). Up to 800 words.

What to send

Share your Medium draft or post with me via Twitter direct message (Matt Phillips) or send to: roughneckdispatch@gmail.com

Will reply in one week. Probably way faster.
