#FABRICISSAVED

The news broke Yesterday, that Islington council and Fabric were in advanced talks to re-open the Farringdon Nightclub. Later on in the day its was announced that the Islington Council, Met Police and Fabric all came to an agreement, and Fabric now has its license returned! The Superclub will open its doors once again. It is rumoured that Fabric have agreed to a stricter door policy, which allowed them to re-open, which includes new ID scanners, lifetime bans for anyone caught in possession of drugs or caught looking to buy drugs and lots more finer details. The Fabric website stated this yesterday:

We are hugely thankful to be able to confirm the news that we have won our licence back. We owe everything to our supporters. We really would not be here today without your unparalleled support and generosity. So many different people stepped up to put their voices to our cause, artists from all corners of the music community, fellow promoters who have put on huge events from us and clubbers from around the world who all united behind us. We’ve even seen people sporting their #savefabric T Shirts on the other side of this planet showing just how big this thing is.

So, thank you to all of you. Without the strength of your backing this would not have happened.

You saved fabric.

We’ll be back with some news about #saveourculture and our next steps when we can.

It is unknown when Fabric will open its doors again, but it is for sure it will in the near future.

It is a great day for the underground music scene and music venues as a whole. The closure of Fabric had really shook the whole Nation, but this win is massive for the little guy. We all gathered together, raised masses of signatures, funds and awareness, not just London and Nationwide, but Worldwide. From the Save Nightlife marches, Tim Griffths #FabricFookwork 24 hour dancing outside of Fabric, Save Fabric T shirts, Venue donations, DJ and Producer donations, Fabric events held elsewhere, all the other Save Nightlife awareness events, #SaveOurCulture movement, the 11 hour Fabric Live CD and loads more all in the aid to keep the iconic venue open, obviously sent a message to the powers that be. Mayor Sadiq Kahn and Night Czar Amy Lame publicly backed the re-opening of Fabric and the growing pressure on Islington council must have took its toll. To close it would have had a negative impact on the Borough, and it still amazes me how a panel of only 3 people had the power to close such an iconic venue for millions of people down.

The question now is when does it open? and when can I get a ticket?
