1.Ayrton Hood — Our House/ Rain (Highly Swung Records)
First up some 4/4 goodness curtesy of the Highly Swung camp. Ayrton Hood steps up with his first release on the label and what a way to kick things off.
‘Our House’ eases nicely into the 2 track Ep, this smooth housey opener sets the tone perfectly for the release, for me personally though ‘Rainy Days’ is most definitely where its at, solid production teamed with that early H&G sound, this track would not sound out of place among newskool bangers and would easily stand its ground mixed with oldskool anthems.
Definitely a must and a solid purchase for any H&G head!
2. Conducta — Still You Ft.Lifford (Holy Goof Remix)
Contucta’s Still You gets the Holy Goof treatment and what a job!
This remix was bult for one reason, to absolutly devastate dancefloors. There is no way this can be dropped in a dance and not do damage.
Out now and available through the usual digital distributors this is a must for any Dj that wants to shut down a dance!
3. Pmoney — Live & Direct
This is one that we have all been waiting for. Ask anyone here at Route 1 to name their top 3 and guaranteed P Money will be in there. I don’t need to sit here and big him up we all know that his flow & word play are practically unmatchable.
After an impressive line up of mixtapes P’s debut album has been released today on the Rinse imprint. He’s been teasing us all for a while with tracks from the release and they haven’t fallen short of impressive. We can’t wait to hear them live next week at XOYO for the album launch party, it you have tickets already then see you there, we’ll have out gunfingers at the ready!
4. Footsie — King Original Vol.4
Last and by no means least we have an upcoming release from another grime heavyweight.
Footsie is back with King Orignal Vol.4, with the vinyl available now on pre — order, and I suggest you do as I’ve got a feeling these will not be hanging around!
I have been waiting for the first track ‘god Like’ to see a release since I first heard it on Spyro’s grime show on Rinse Fm. If you’ve not seen it D Double & Big Narstie go in over this one!
Yet again another must for any grime fan!
