Gearing Up!

A lot of folks have been curious as to what we’re going to bring on the trail. I went into detail with my co-workers prior to leaving and the most common response was “You’re not bringing deodorant?!” Nope. We’ll be embracing the trail life and I secretly hope it’s one less scented item that will prevent curious bears from strolling into camp.

We made a video that shows us testing our gear, laying out all our possessions and packing up for the final time to make sure it all fits in our pack. We’ll also be posting a spreadsheet for those that want in depth detail on the items we’re bringing including weight and cost.

To be clear we are not UL (ultralight) backpackers by any means! We enjoy our little luxuries like our chair converters for our sleeping pads and over-sized camp pillows. We’ll also be meeting up with Christian’s parents after the first week to reevaluate our packs and send home any items that we don’t need.
