Coach Roxygen,

Did you know that 46 years ago today, Star Wars was released? I like to think of impact like that whenever I think about creating things. Four decades, countless spinoffs, people feeling more connected, all because George made a film with a bunch of cool people.

OK, responding to your note: what’s going on with me?

The Reclaimers Season 4 is my current can’t-stop-thinking-about-it. I just had a revelation about how I need to stop worrying about the narrative and start worrying about the survivors. They’re the reason I started the podcast, to begin with; yet somewhere over the past 2 seasons, I lost that very important point.

So, I’m focusing on writing for the survivors. For their needs. For what will comfort them most. For what will help them feel seen and understood. That focus shift is a total game changer.

Thinking about that with Star Wars. How it gives people hope, helps them feel like they can find an identity in this big galaxy. And maybe that’s the point of any creative endeavor — to create something that makes others feel seen and connected and understood?

Hey, remember our talks about Montmarena? How’s that going? I know you’ve been moving things off your plate and I wondered if that was something that was moved?

OK, and tell me about Japan having another version? I want to know more about that.

Say Hi to the fam for me!

Many thanks, Sincerely,

Advo-Kate
