“Ideology is the enemy of free thinking”.

(This article originally appeared in RPatgiri Futurism’s official website)

Whenever people become a part of a ideological group, once their heart is set on a particular ideology, they do not want to entertain any idea that does not resonate with their ideology. From then onwards, their thinking, decision making and opinions are based more on their emotion than through rational thinking. Once you get into those ideological clusters, anything outside it is forbidden. Any variable, which may be a theory, evidence or an idea , that doesn’t fit into the equation of the ideology that they are subscribed to, is ignored.

Do not get locked into those ideological paradigms. Let facts and real information guide your decisions and understanding. If you are seeking truth, if you are seeking an explanation, then do not let these deceptions deceive you. Our thinking capabilities are very impaired and, as I have discovered, this only one of the many ways when fail to think critically. Critical thinking isn’t easy and straight forward. The sooner you acknowledge this fact, . I have not mastered it. But I have now started to figure out the ways I was deceiving myself. Subscribing to a ideology and then getting emotionally attached to it is one of them.
