With just enough suspense and drama to keep one from dozing off, Nocturnal Animals displays Tom Ford’s ambitions to (1) create a parallel between reality and a piece of literature, or (2) use an unreliable narrator to generate what would be a satisfying twist, yet fails to do either in a nicely stylized but hollow thriller.
