RSS activists attacked a bus conductor with machetes in daylight while he was on duty. A passenger who tried to stop the attackers also got injured from the attacks. The victims of the attack are the bus conductor Anilkumar Paannalil (49), and the passenger Mahesh Paramban (28).

The incident occurred in Tirur, Malappuram around 4:30 in the evening on Wednesday 16th of March. A gang of ten brandishing machetes and iron rods stopped the bus near Ambalapaddy. The attack terrified the passengers in the bus who left it wailing. By the time the residents of the town arrived with help the attackers escaped from the scene. Anilkumar who suffered serious injuries to both his legs and his left hand is admitted in Kozhikode Medical college hospital. And the injured passenger Mahesh is admitted in Ponani Taluk hospital.

Anilkumar has identified some attackers and has named RSS activists Veebhishan Thekkan, Jibin Thekkumpadathu, Suresh Thrikannashery, Babu Pullickal, Vipin Manchery as the lead members of the gang.

In another incident in the town of Ponnani, RSS members attacked a CPI(M) activist Suresh Uppungal in his shop.
