10. Atomic Heart

We will start our list of new open-world games 2019 with Atomic Heart. Atomic Heart is an action role-playing video game published by Russian Studio Mundfish.

The game is in a first-person shooting perspective. The fighting in this game included shooting and melee combat with a new weaponry system. Unreal Engine 4 was used to develop this Atomic Heart game. The game will have only one mode which is a single-player mode. There will no multiplayer mode in it. The game is planned to be released for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Q4 2019.

9. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2

At number 9 we have Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is an action role-playing third-person shooting video game. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is an open-world game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.

It is the second part of Tom Clancy’s The Division game which was released in 2016. The game set near Washington DC in the aftermath of a smallpox pandemic. The game was released on March 15, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. The game received positive remarks because this installment of the Division series is better than the last installment.

8. Far Cry New Dawn

Moving on to number 8 we have a game from the Far Cry series which is Far Cry New Dawn. Far Cry New Dawn is the sequel of the last Far Cry game Far Cry 5. The story started after 17 years of the Far Cry 5 event. It is an action role-playing game with a first-person shooter perspective. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft.

The initial release of the game was on 5 February 2019 for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One. As per reviews, the game received mixed critics. IGN gave a 7.5/10 rating to the game by saying this “Ubisoft could’ve done more to refresh Hope for Far Cry: New Dawn, but there’s still some good, chaotic fun to be had here”. The game contains both modes, Single-player and Multiplayer.

7. Rage 2

Next on our list Rage 2 which is one of the 7th new open-world games 2019. Rage 2 is a first-person shooter open-world game that is published by Bethesda Softworks. The game was released on 14 May 2019, and it is a sequel to Rage. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Rage 2 also received both positive and negative reviews, some were praising the game for its combat and some were criticizing it for open-world gameplay, characters, and storyline. The Game Informer gave a 7/10 rating to Rage 2 but IGN gave an 8/10 rating by comparing it to the last Rage game. The game has only one mode which is Single-player mode.

6. Days Gone

Coming up to number 6 we have Days Gone. Days Gone is an action-adventure survival horror game. Days Gone was released on 26 April 2019 and it was developed by SIE Bend Studio and was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Days Gone is in a third-person perspective and it only released for the PlayStation platform and not for Windows or Xbox. Days Gone is a Zombie shooter open-world game, the player can explore the open-world environment in this game. As per the reviews, this game also get mixed critics, people were praising the game for its open world and gameplay but criticism was mainly due to lack of story and character development. Despite all these issues, the game was a success.

5. Anthem

Next, we have Anthem at number 5. Anthem is an action role-playing game. This game features both modes that are Multiplayer mode and Single-player mode. The game is developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows on 22 February 2019. Frostbite 3 game engine was used to develop Anthem.

The game is in third person shooting perspective in a contiguous open world shared with up to three players. People praised the game for its visuals, graphics, combat, and fighting style but criticism was because of technical aspects and story. The game didn’t meet the expectations of Electronic Arts despite being praised.

4. Crackdown 3

In the list of new open-world games 2019, we have Crackdown 3. Crackdown 3 is a follow-up of Crackdown 2 which was released 9 years ago in 2010. The crackdown 3 is an action-adventure video open world game which is developed by Sumo Digital on Unreal Engine 4 and published by Microsoft Studio.

The game was released for only two platforms, for Windows and Xbox on 15 February 2019. The game was set to be released in 2016 but gets delayed a lot of times due to several reasons. The game gets criticism because of the lack of innovation and dated design. The game has multiplayer as well as a single-player mode in it which is fun to play.

3. Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 is on number 3 in our list. Dying Light 2 hasn’t released yet. The release date is yet to be announced but it is expecting in Q1/Q2 of 2020. It is an action-adventure horror survival game which is developed by Techland and published by Techland Publishing.

Dying Light 2 is a sequel to its previous game Dying Light. The game is themed in a zombie apocalypse and begins after 15 years if its last game Dying Light. The game is set to release for multiple platforms including Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 and it will have both modes, single-player and multiplayer.

2. The Outer Worlds

Next, we have The Outer Worlds in our Top Ten new open-world games. The Outer Worlds is an action role-playing game. The Outer Worlds is an open-world game developed by Obsidian Entertainment on Unreal Engine 4 game engine and published by Private Division.

The game was released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on 25 October 2019. The game is featuring the first-person perspective and has only a single-player mode. Its Nintendo Switch version will be released in 2020. As per reviews, the game received “Generally favorable reviews.”

1. Cyberpunk 2077

The last and number one in our list of new open-world games 2019 is Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 is a role-playing video game. The game is set to release on 16 April 2020 and it is developed by CD Projekt Red by using REDengine 4.

The game will be released on Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The gameplay will be in the first-person perspective. The trailer got viral because the game is starring actor Keanu Reeves. Fans are waiting eagerly for its release. The game will be in single-player and multiplayer mode. Cyberpunk 2077 won over one hundred awards at E3 2018.
