Buzzfeed has so many trending articles that its hard to avoid them even if one tried. Over the last few years Buzzfeed has grown to be an incredibly powerful media content producing machine. When surfing social media a person can be constantly bombarded with Buzzfeed “hit” articles. It is very obvious as to why Buzzfeed has become such a popular media contributor. Their articles are often easy to read, filled with photos, and text that can capture the audience’s attention. While many of the titles are click-bate, most people still cannot resist the compelling headlines. It has become very apparent that Buzzfeed is most likely the future of media.

Buzzfeed is the future of media because of the way they create content. As I already noted, they create articles that are easy to digest. In the current day and age many millennials hate reading long and dense articles about virtually anything. While I know that that is a very broad generalization, it is pretty truthful. Buzzfeed does a good job at creating articles that are light and fluffy as well as articles that are a bit more meaningful. Whichever type of content that the article is holding, it is still written in a similar way. Simple words, photographs, and to the point. These articles target the newer generations because that is how we tend to like everything. We are used being able to Command + F whatever we are looking for and now we seek articles that are straight to the point.

There are so many options while surfing Buzzfeed’s website. Buzzfeed has an array of articles from news to 21 Tumblr Posts About Food That Are Actually Really Funny to meaningless quizzes. With this variety it is easy for people to digest what they are reading and coming across. Instead of being faced with tragedy after tragedy as it seems to be in todays news, there is a mix and match of good and bad. While their news articles often make me question if Donald Trump’s Granddaughter Sang A Song In Chinese For Lunar New Year And People Are Obsessed is actually news, the topics available for reading are unlimited.

The content creators at Buzzfeed play an important role in their success. Buzzfeed has a set of content creators that are about creating and maintaining audiences. A large part of Buzzfeed is their YouTube channels. These channels have millions of subscribers and videos with millions of views. There are many faces of Buzzfeed that people can recognize- faces of relatable people who could be seen as quirky, cool, media savvy, and so on. When we feel a connection with a site we are more likely to return and share what the media source is doing/saying. Many choose video over reading and this is where Buzzfeed really excels. Hundred of videos with varying topics all aimed at collecting views.

While there are many media outlets, the way Buzzfeed runs theirs is the future of media. Others may be more reputable or hard-hitting, but Buzzfeed does what it does best. It attracts younger users that will most likely remain dedicated as it grows. Having the younger generation under its belt pretty much secures its future.. until something newer and better comes along.
